PLOT

Please leave any feedback concerning THE SWORD AND THE FISH'S plot here.

The plot really hops about at first before settling down and getting more involved. This is due to the fact I never really expected a cohesive plot to emerge from our tinkering. But I think that adds a certain charm, as it avoids cliched beginnings. I tried to walk the tight rope between RPG parody and cliche. But some things I consider sparklingly original. Were you engaged by the story or did it meander too much? What did you think? Comment here.

Hello anonymous!

Esperalza can be found deep within the catacombs of the CASTLE OF VOLTAINE which can be found on the ZAMBOOKA world map. The old man will not move until he is defeated.

The rune at the Icewall is a GLITCH. It has been fixed and I've added a whole event there when you bring the right person to it - but in v.1.1 it will always be unreadable.

Enjoy playing the rest of it!
Any more questions, fire back.

hi joel,

it's me again, the one who asked about esperalza
now i am in the last battle with gwar, but the room with the light is very tricky, is there any tips?
and where can i find the ninja to steal the chair?
and what should i do with the moldy meat (where is the haunted spirit)?
thanks again and great game, it's not too complicated and sequence is not the main importance, sometimes it is very annoying to skip one thing and the whole thing alters

cheers

The room with the light is tricky, just how it is. Once you're through once, though, you never have to again. The key is to visualize where the 3 light-turn-on switches are, and go between them.

The chair scenario, in Whinter, which is what I assume you're talking about, requires a thief from the thieves guild. Said guild is in Whinter, but a bit tricky to find. Snoop around, especially places that are unusual.

I am not at liberty to discuss the use of the moldy meat here, but I assure you it doesn't have anything to do with a haunted spirit.

Glad you like it man!
:)
SatF is just all the fun. Then it gets all about the awesome.
Enjoy the end sequence, it's my fav.

The Fish is the fish Scumdrop gives to the blacksmith in the intro, and The Sword is the sword that was made out of the fish...I think. (I still haven't finished the game)

Yay! Other people answering questions!

Here's the skinny:

The title originally came from us typing in a silly pun on THE SWORD AND THE STONE, the old Arthur legend.

I designed NOTHING to do specifically with swords or fishes until 5 years into the project wherein I decided to make a cutesy plot around the two.

The intro blathers about an important fish. That map looks familiar too...

As for the Sword, well, only ending the game can learn that.

:D

Glad a few people can get to the ending since it's one of the best parts for sure!

I'll work on completing version 1.2 soon, I'm mad busy right now.

I know this is a way late comment so you may not read this blog anymore, but I only just got around to finishing the game or I think I finished it.

Is the end on the moon after you defeat Gwar? I beat him and Clifford says "The Quest is complete." It seems a bit of a hanging ending, but I can't figure out how to get off the moon. Is that it to the story?

JOEL here, blogger hates me and won't let me sign in:

Apologies anonymous!

The end is the BEST PART! But I know what your problem is. You did too much damage to Gwar on your final hit and a trigger didn't trigger. It's a glitch in the 1st version. (hopefully fixed)

Fight Gwar again. The vast majority of the time a trigger will happen when he hits a certain HP.

Wurd!
